Restaurant review
The Dome is a classy, award-winning bar and restaurant and is recognised as one of the best in Edinburgh. As soon as you walk in the door you will be greeted by helpful and friendly staff who are always there to help you. The décor is definitely the most eye-catching feature with huge vases filled with fresh flowers that always look incredible.
The Dome is made up of four separate restaurants, the Grill Room, the Club Room, the Front Room, and the Georgian Tea Room. The Grill Room, known as Edinburgh’s grandest brasserie, serves an a la carte menu and a club style sandwich menu. The stunning island bar takes centre stage in the centre of the room where you can order a wide range of cocktails, alcoholic beverages, and soft drinks from the expert bartenders. Next door is the smaller Club Room that serves a delicious tapas menu as well as bar snacks and cocktails. Upstairs in the Georgian Tea Room is open from 11am-5pm and serves a stunning afternoon tea that is very popular among visitors to Edinburgh. Choose from the champagne afternoon tea, gluten free afternoon tea, vegan afternoon tea, or children’s afternoon for the perfect meal with friends or family.
Christmas at the Dome is none other than a spectacle. The festive period at the Dome begins at the start of November until January, however they are closed on Christmas Day. You will see the elaborate Christmas decorations outside the Dome from along George Street which only gets better as you enter the restaurant. The Grill Room is overtaken with an enormous Christmas tree in the centre of the room which is the backdrop to stunning festive photographs. It is worth noting that Christmas time often has queues outside just to see inside the restaurant and the tables book up months in advance so booking in advance is highly recommended.

I have been to the Dome on several occasions, to the Grill Room, the Club Room and to the Georgian Tea Room, and quite frankly it is one of my favourite restaurants I have ever been to. Every time I have been, we have been served with the highest quality service, food, and experience. My favourite time to visit the Dome is at Christmas when the Christmas tree and decorations are up.
One of the best, I definitely recommend!
