Inverdoorn Safari, Cape Town South Africa Review

Just a 2.5-hour drive from Cape Town lies this stunning Game Reserve and Safari. Inverdoorn Reserve is the perfect place to watch the Big 5 (lion, rhino, elephant, leopard, and African buffalo) up close and roaming freely. Not only that, they home cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and so much more. The Reserve offers a variety of different safaris and five different lodges each differentiating in price and length. The safaris take place in 4x4 vehicles and are driven by expert rangers who give in-depth information and answer any questions that you have.

In 2001, Inverdoorn Game Reserve introduced the Cheetah Conservation programme with the view to rehabilitate cheetahs and has since been taken over by new management, The Aquila Collection. During the safari you will be given the chance to go to the cheetah centre and watch the fastest land animals race.

As well as the stunning safari and lodge facilities, the spa services are also popular among visitors. Luxury spa facilities and treatments can be booked in advance to make the most out of your trip to Inverdoorn.

My review

I went to Inverdoorn Game Reserve in August 2018 and I loved it! We did an overnight safari and stayed at the Kuganha Tented camp which consisted of a private 66sq foot tent with a double bed, heaters, and bathroom. Each tent had its own dining area and a shared pool for the 3 tents. We started the trip with a welcome meal which was a homemade African buffet followed by an afternoon safari. As part of the luxury Kuganha tour, we got an evening barbecue and bonfire whilst watching the sunset. The second day of the tour started with a 5am safari to watch the sunrise and watch the animals, followed by a buffet breakfast freshly prepared at the dining area. The whole experience was incredible, my favourite part being when the elephants came to the pool and drank from it. We were also allowed to feed the elephants which is certainly one to tick off the bucket list.
